    Florida returned more $173 million in unclaimed property for the 2008-2009 fiscal year –¬ the largest amount in state history, according to the state’s chief financial officer.

  • Ohio mortgage rates creep up for week, Ky. drops
    Mortgage rates in Ohio inched up over the week, while Kentucky’s fell slightly, according to Zillow.com.
  • June Oahu home prices down 9%, sales up
    Single-family home prices on Oahu fell 9 percent last month compared to last year, while condominium prices dropped 5 percent.
  • Urban housing firms grab $150M in grants
    Bay Area developers have raked in more than $150 million in state grant money to jump start housing projects, a list of big winners that included the John Stewart Co., the Emerald Fund, Tenderloin Neighborhood Development Corp., and a development group that includes former San Francisco 49ers quarterback Joe Montana.
  • Region will receive $6.4M in low-income housing tax credits
    The New York State Division of Housing and Community Renewal said more than $6.4 million in federal low income housing tax credits and subsidies will be used to construct and rehabilitate 381 units of affordable housing in counties throughout the Capital Region. The funding is part of $48 million in awards that will create more than 2,100 affordable housing units and 2,000 new construction jobs statewide. Approximately 350 jobs are expected to be created in the Capital Region.
